Brake Press Operator
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Lead Hand, the person will be responsible of operating the press brake machine(s). Must read and interpret the technical drawings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bend a variety of sheet metals from 7 gauge thru 26 gauge.
- Setups, including tool selection and changing, calibrating and verifying accuracy.
- Optimize programs/manufacturing processes.
- Perform preventive maintenance work according to schedule.
- Advise management on potential machine issues, such as; changes in performance, speed, oil leaks, tolerance capability, unusual noises, etc.
- Ensure all products adhere to the production specifications of the customer
- Read and interpret blue prints and process sheets.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment i.e. work station, lunchroom etc.
- Report any hazards to the Plant Manager or Supervisor immediately so corrective action can be taken.
- Perform all other duties as required.
PRIOR WORK & EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- High School Diploma.
- Understanding of programming brake press.
- Basic blue print reading
- Knowledge of bending.
- Ability to read a tape measure and use precise measuring instruments.
- Understand basic tool functions.
- Physically capable of lifting in excess of 40lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work any 3 shifts and overtime when needed.
